InterSpace

InterSpace includes 96 unit counters for each player plus 64 IOU, 48 Ore, 48 Shield, 16 Industrial Level, and 16 Tech Level shared counters.  To make these counters, you will need to:
  • Print the unit counters file with a black ink or color printer.
  • Print the shared counters file with a color printer.
  • Glue the printed sheets onto chip board or EVA foam sheets.
  • Wait for the glue to dry, then cut the counters with scissors or a pen knife.

Unit Counters
There are 2 unit counter files, one for black ink printers and one for color printers.  Each file contains a single page with 4 blocks of 48 counter images.  Each player will need 2 blocks of counters for a total of 96.
If you use the black & white file, print 4 copies; one copy each on 4 different colors of paper or card stock.  You will need to mount only 2 blocks (96 counters) from each page.
If you use the color file, print 2 copies on white paper or card stock.
If you want to make 2-sided counters, download and print the corresponding "backs" file.

Shared Counters

The shared counters file contains images of the 64 IOU, 48 Ore, 48 Shield, 16 Industrial Level, and 16 Tech Level counters.  There are 2 pages, one for the counter fronts and one for the counter backs.  If you want single sided counters, print just the first page.  If you want double sided counters, print both pages.  Print the pages on white paper or card stock using a color printer.

Optional Counters
The optional counters file contains images of 48 Encounter counters and 48 Plus counters.  You use the Encounter counters in conjunction with the Encounter card deck described in the Advanced rules.  You use the Plus counters if you are using the "Plus Counters" option also described in the Advanced rules.
Print the optional counters on white paper or card stock using a black ink or color printer.  Counter backs are provided on the same page if you wish to make these counters double sided.

Flags

Several folks have requested flags for InterSpace, so here they are.  This PDF contains 10 different flags in color and black & white.  The file also includes colony counters in 4 different colors to match the unit counters.

You may decide to use either the flags or colony counters.  If you use the flags, you must place a flag on your home world and matching flags on each of your colonies.  If you use the colony counters, place a colony counter on each planet you colonize.

Mount & Cut
You can mount your counters either on chip board or 2mm EVA foam sheets.  You can find both at your local hobby supply store.  EVA is easier to cut and comes in a variety of colors.  Best of all, EVA can be found with an adhesive side, eliminating the need to use glue (at least for single sided counters.)
Single Sided
First cut the counter sheets into blocks to make them easier to work with.  Counters are generally printed in blocks of 48.  Leave at least a 1/2 inch margin all the way around the block.
If you are using glue, place the counter sheet face down on a newspaper.  Apply white glue to the back of the sheet then smear the glue around with your finger until you have a thin coat covering the entire sheet.  Next, pick up the sheet and apply it to the chip board or EVA.  Use a cloth or paper towel to press the sheet to the chip board or EVA - do not rub.  Put the glued counter sheet on a flat surface and place several books on top of it.  Allow it to dry overnight.
Double Sided
If you are making double sided counters, mount the front block first and wait for it to dry.  Then use scissors or a pen knife to cut the margin away from the block.  Do not cut out the individual counters at this time.
Next, cut out the unmounted back block without leaving a margin.  Make sure the front block and back block have the same orientation and glue the back block to the back of the mounted front block.
Cut
Finally, after any glue has dried over night, use scissors or a pen knife to cut out the individual counters.
